Poor Erik...

Erik Rhodes, the Falcon Studios star, has done something I don't think many of us would want to do.  According to Erik, he was having sensitivity and pain in his penis and his doctor recommended that he be circumcised.  According to The Sword:  "Two months ago, at the suggestion of his doctor, Rhodes’ was circumcised due to sensitivity/pain in his penis. But undergoing the procedure as an adult causes even more sensitivity/pain, albeit temporary, and comes with mixed results, in terms of sexual effects."  Rhodes is really  not my type; he's a little too big and bulky.  I tend to like my gay porn stars to be a perfect mix of twinkishness and manliness.  However, I found this story very interesting, especially since my father went through a similar surgery for adult circumcision several months ago.  At least Rhodes had the option to have this done when he was an adult, and ultimately it was his choice.  For too many of us, especially in America, we were not given that choice.  On Rhodes's Tumblr blog, he had this response when asked about his circumcision:

Not my first choice in things i would like to have done to myself… and honestly i’m regretting listening to my doctor.
I think i’m just being impatient… it takes a lot of healing… i mean, most people have it done as kids, so by the time they know what they are doing with it, its been years… i’m only a couple months in and i’m just not used to it…
I will admit… even though it wasn’t a cosmetic decision… i mean, it was always an awkward situation trying to explain why i wasn’t… i think every boyfriend i ever had, upon first seeing it, were thrown off… with a look on there face like “i don’t understand, i’m not sure i’m into this”, which never felt great, even with how comfortable i was with myself. I think i was more used to seeing it in the industry and not really thinking much of it… but when real life would kick in sometimes, it was weird to see how stupid people could be… i remember having to explain to my first boyfriend that at one point he was uncut as well. So dumb.
I been trying to play it off as a joke… a way to stay fresh in the industry after so many years… you gotta switch it up right?

To be truthful, I think it looks a bit odd with the circumcision scar.  It's not your average circumcision scar that has had years to heal. Instead it is a bit jagged.  His doctor was obviously a bit of a butcher.

Something that might interest some of you out there, according to news sources, new parents in San Francisco may not have the choice of circumcision for much longer. San Francisco voters will decide on a proposed circumcision ban now that opponents of circumcision, or intactivists, have garnered enough signatures to put their controversial measure on the ballot this November, reports the Associated Press.

Should the measure pass, it would be illegal to circumcise a male under the age of 18. Doing so would be a misdemeanor offense punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 or up to one year in jail. There would be no religious exemptions, although there are likely to be many legal challenges based on the First Amendment’s promise of religious freedom. The proposition is the culmination of a much larger debate going on nationally about the health benefits of circumcision. Worldwide, only about 30 percent of men are circumcised, while almost 80 percent of American men have been circumcised, according to the Associated Press. But, circumcision rates appear to be dropping dramatically in the U.S.
Do you feel that circumcision should be a legal matter or a family matter?
